I have not signed up however, but I will certainly move away from the network I am with as shortly equally I can, my bills are a joke and I get a lot less than costless are offering, sounds like a keen offering if free actually pull it off !! merely problem is, as yet they exercise not have their own network, so will exist using the sfr network.
ChristopherL-188542 1326372533
It's a great offer. It is fifty-fifty cheaper if you are currently a Free ADSL customer. They have the competition shaking in their boots. Fix to run into a toll war! ! !
By the way - did you lot see that for current ADSL customers that Free are now offering 60 minutes no-frills mobile phone forfait for how much??? - Yes 0€ !! Nifty for your kids.
Let the battle embark.

My boyfriend signed upwards with Gratuitous this morning time. He was with Simyo and Free will cancel that for him. Should he want to cancel with Costless, he tin can whenever he wants without a penalization.
For xx Euros per month he gets:
stevie g-252342 1326377650
Thank you lot for that, I just tried to contact my electric current provider to see what they would offering just after 10mins of waiting I was cutting of....think I'm going to practise it.
shea1 1326381622
Tin can y'all transfer existing telephone number over or take to become a new sim and number?
ChristopherL-188542 1326385671
It is easier than that to get a RIO. Just phone call 3179 from your cellphone. That is a free call and an automated response will tell y'all your portability options, your period of appointment and volition text you your RIO code if you qualify.
haha - I am not surprised well-nigh stevie's experience on agree. Sorry stevie - I am non laughing AT you, rather WITH you when you finally succeed. The large operators are truly shaking. Orange had their Primary Executive deliver a pep talk to all employees yesterday to try to rally the troops. Some Orange boutique staff were stressed by the quantity of customers walking in and demanding better deals. Evidently there were some almost riots.
Ras-214972 1326389498
The biggest crime of the other mobile operators in France, in my opinion, is the expiration of pre-pay credit, and the expiration of the line. The 2 euros (or zip!) tariff is swell for light users, people with second homes here infrequently etc.
However, I wonder how good Free is for the speed of cyberspace/data? Not that they take much to crush....
ChristopherL-188542 1326394544
I wonder how good Costless is for the speed of net/data?
That is Free'south breadstuff and butter. Their speed is truly EXCELLENT. I recommend their degroupage offering very highly for speed and reliability. Their customer service is something else though and can exist frustrating to reach if you need them just every bit long every bit their reliability stays high, then you don't need to telephone call for service.
The 3GB inclusive data deal that they have offered on the €nineteen.99 GSM forfait is perhaps going to stretch their courage network - promise they do not neglect from their success.
Ras-214972 1326399801
I meant the mobile cellular data. I already take Costless broadband at home, which I concord works well.
I find it strange all these loftier data limits of 3GB a month. It is very hard to use this amount of data over cellular - information technology is only not fast enough! Last time I tried to download a moderately sized podcast on my iPhone, the iPhone wouldn't permit me - it said the file was too big and I had to use wifi. Given I had 3GB of data to use on my cellular data, I thought that wasn't fair.
Browsing the web and sending emails doesn't use much. The only way is to watch YouTube constantly - just if the download rate is slow, that is a very frustrating experience on a phone and yous just surrender.
So, information technology remains to be seen, can Complimentary deliver decent cellular download speed. I await it volition exist fast on Free'south own networks, but when the customer numbers increase, it will degrade. And when using the borrowed Orange network, the speed will exist no meliorate than I get now.
Just otherwise I hold the price is excellent. Hope their customer service manages to keep up, I can imagine hundreds of thousands of customers switching over to them with all the usual problems of number migration, will go along their call middle decorated.
callisto-215988 1326404744
It says calls to U.k. landlines INCLUSIVE is that free? And calls to britain mobiles 0.19. Per minute?
Sad for existence a scrap dull, but just want to piece of work out if it's the bargain for me, having a second home here and simply visiting every couple of months.
Thanks

Hello to the experts here.
I am very interested in this but only need to know something that may sound stupid. Not having had a mobile before.
I take been on their website and volition follow through the procedure only it only says for the Freebox.
I am looking to buy a couple of mobile phones to go with this.
Is this something I can buy in a store and then it is signed upwardly for Free through the shop ie Auchan or practice I have to exercise something else.
Whatever advice please.
Many cheers in advance

to Ras;
I detect it strange all these high data limits of 3GB a month. Information technology is very difficult to utilise this amount of data over cellular
think "tethering" i.e. your phone with the 3G/3G limit becomes your WiFi Access point to the Cyberspace for your other "stuff" e.k. iPad, netbook, ,motorcar navigation, laptop - heck fifty-fifty all your habitation computers. The tethering capability was not clear in Costless's printing proclamation only has since been confirmed. This is streets ahead of the competition who either charge extra (effectually 15€/month) for this dingle feature or else ban the practice outright. I practise concur with you lot that we have to pray that this does non cook the shared 3G infrastructure.
to Kathy;
Sorry forgot to say should I sign up for the Freebox first?
Y'all do non have to but it will save you 4€ per month on the mobile forfait. Yes you need to buy a naked GSM telephone. eBay and Amazon are brimful with very proficient quality handsets for under 50€.
musky-211885 1326409059
Thankyou very much Christopher. That is what I volition practise.
Kindest Regards

Also I want to say big cheers to Christopher who does give very often great advice on different postings. Happy new year and all the all-time and looking forward reading more of your groovy comments.

Free are very easy to observe. They have an emphasis on Internet sales and Internet self-service. Their mobile bargain is explained here ;

Hi anybody - whatever experience with free's service/reception in the Valbonne expanse (and surroundings)??? I'yard about to sign upwardly only would hate to get stranded with poor reception - if information technology's the SFR network they are using, same question... I've just had Orange so far. Thanks!
ChristopherL-188542 1326730450
Free are using Orangish infrastructure so your feel with Orange should prevail. I am on SFR for my master cellphone and I know exactly where all the black spots are in Valbonne (and at that place are several) - did y'all experience any black spots with Orange?
ange03-273321 1326730702
Yep, one huge black spot - Ille Verte and surroundings, 0 confined around the Carrefour market... but that I tin can live with for 19.99, thanks, Angela

Hello.
I would be very interested to hear any feedback(delays/glitches/temporary phone numbers etc.) from anyone who has currently finalised the transition from their previous telephone operator including the transfer and activation of their original number to the free.fr mobile service.
Many thanks.

My french is not that good, I looked on the website and am interested in the 2 euros no contract deal, does anyone know how this one works and does your credit run out after the usual month??
touchka-209658 1327005726
Look upwards 'zero forfait' they are cheaper than 'Gratuitous', unlimited calls €xiv.90, unlimited calls, unlimited sms, unlimited internet €18.90. I accept been with them for somewhile with a small 'forfait' 1 hr per month €five.90, never had a problem.
MelaNice 1327174366
I would too exist interested in hearing if anyone has completed the process and what that experience was like.
Likewise I heard that it will price 400€ to quit to leave free to get to some other operator, is this truthful or just a nasty rumor started by the other guys??
Thanks

I accept just completed ii subscriptions. 1 to 15.99 € and i to ii € . Later on sign up on- site it took 15 minutes to go a confirm email that you take to Respond to ( Verify that yous mean information technology) .
After iii days I received the two sim cards. And both worked perfectly . I have now 2 very inexpensive mobile telephone and there is NO restrictions about termination, and there is no abonnemt of Gratis mobile telephony.
Hope that's aid
There is no doubt that the other operator will try to do everything possible to brand mistakes in terms of number portability ( When you transfer the number from one operator to another ).
I have experienced that many times when you should take the phone number from the FTC (orange ) they now switch it off on a Friday so you have no phone all weekend. In the by they always cut information technology off one of the weekdays .
With over 100 Free installation with my clients , I find Gratis as the best telephone /net operator right at present.

What happens if you have a €2 forfait and go over the hr yous have? I cannot find the details about this. Is it €2 per hour or is information technology a heavy price to pay one time you go over
MelaNice 1328093230
I was reading the tarif's and 1 affair to sentinel out for is calls to Monaco mobiles are .49c a minute. But other then that it seems great. If you accept the two€ deal it is every bit follows if you go over.
French:
60 minutes de consommation téléphonique puis 0,05 €/mn2
60 SMS puis 0,01 €/SMS3
Google Interpret:
lx minutes of telephone use and €0.05 mn2
60 SMS and € 0.01 / SMS3
I ordered my 2€ sim last night. I called on the phone and the guy walked me through the net sign up very nicely. When that comes and is activated I will order my 15.99€ sim. I'm doing it that way so if they cutting my service over the weekend I will still have a phone.
I will keep you all posted!!
One last thing you only get one "deal" with your free contract, so don't sign up for the 0€ sim if in the future yous want the 15.99€ sim.
Anyone else have an feel they can share.

SIM arrived and worked perfectly however, my phone does seem to exist sending multiple texts....
Does anyone know the costs for calling Britain and Italian mobiles?
LeighA 1328115735
0.19 to Italy and to the Great britain per infinitesimal. Landlines are free however.
unclebuck-261169 1328968080
I have just been speaking to Orange, and said I wanted to change over to the free network.. They offered me a new 2 twelvemonth contract for 49 euros a month unlimited calls in France, only nothing outside of French republic, this is their reply to the all in 19.99 free option !!! I have ordered the free sim card then I hope this works okay, but I have three months until my orange contract runs out so I should know ameliorate by then. I also tried to lower my monthly bill only plain yous cant do this without signing up for another 12 months!! I besides accept a United kingdom mobile and tried the aforementioned and they lowered the contract downward to a third of what I had no problem at all.. I guess the companies hither are still wanting to get for the big profits, and I suppose if they lost half their customers its cheaper than dropping to compete with free, so it does not look like they are going to get into a war with costless over pricing... Has anyone been using the costless system? whatever comments or bad bits about them
unclebuck-261169 1328971392
Mmm,, another discussion.. I was in one case a free customer and I have to say they were very expert with broadband and TV.
What I am interested in is listening to any comments about the free mobile service, at present that it has been available for a piffling while and people accept used it are there any downsides or upsides.. To be honest for the price, which is fantastic if all works well its a winning parcel. I believe the masts can cope with all the calls, as it is SFR.. Even if orange tin can do it for 49 euros its still 2.5x college than gratis and they want a 2 year contract, and no calls outside french republic !!!!! At the moment my orangish is 55 per month for four hours on a i year contract...( I pay an extra six a month for a 1 yr contract).
I know you dont get a phone from free merely who really cares, you can purchase a sim free phone cheaply , and its not that its besides cheap its that other operators are making a killing, and no one has had the guts to take them on until at present..
SO,,, anyone been using their free mobile sim ???
ange03-273321 1328977093
I've got my Sim card, kept my former telephone number, Free took care of everything. Information technology took them ii weeks to send the card, but then as a former Orangish customer I'g used to so much worse. Equally far as I'm concerned, win win situation. Also, I have been calling customer service a couple of times and they helped me right away, again, I'm used to so much worse from Orange. Can't wait until the residuum of familys contracts are up so I can switch them, too.
unclebuck-261169 1328977323
Thankyou ange03 that'south what I like to hear, I besides cant expect, I have had bills up to 180euros from Orange and it is frightening, they just run away with charges,, xix.99 for me is fantastic I will be able to pick upwardly the phone and make a phone call without clock counting !!
I must say everyone I know has said they are going to change likewise at the cease of their contracts equally it seems that a lot of people take had bad experiences also.
MelaNice 1328978916
I take been a Free client for 7 years and recollect they have ane of the best customer services around. I'm not saying that it is perfect, but for France pretty close.
I just got my ii€ sim card and at present need to buy a phone for it. Only when I put it into my phone I found that information technology does not work in Monaco. Apparently yous are roaming in Monaco and it only works in France. When I try to find info nearly roaming in French republic for the fifteen.99 programme I fond nothing tin can someone prove me what the cost for Monaco for that programme?? Thank you
Every bit for the await time. If you lot cull another number you get your sim in three-5 days, merely if yous are keeping your number that is a dissimilar story see Stuart06's link.
As for me I demand to modify my forfait cause I am currently paying 75€ per month, but was wondering if anyone knows how many times you can motion your number in a twelvemonth?? I can move to Bouyg's xix.99€ unlimited program that is without contract but then if I want to move to free can I do that?? Would love to know thanks!!
charchoc123 1329527338
To ChristopherL I ordered my sim effectually the aforementioned time as you and received confirmation this evening that they are finally posting information technology... Fingers crossed information technology's every bit good as nosotros all hope!
musky-211885 1329560657
I ordered one 23rdJan on the abonnement that arrived 1 week later on, I so ordered the following day 24th Jan one non on abonnement and information technology hasnt moved past etape one, thinking maybe there was a problem and not being able to contact them, I ordered another 3 Feb not on abonnement and have only checked order today and that has been posted. Dont know what is going on with the one ordered 24th Jan...if it comes it comes.
All sims where for new number every bit dont currently accept a mobile.
785biot@gmail.com 1329581678
Now being a Gratuitous mobile customer for 1 calendar month with two phones 1 on the two€ and the other on 16€ abonnemt. So fair I can only say information technology is working great.
MelaNice 1329585041
Ok so my friend ordered hers on the 25th of Jan and was told that her portability would happen on the 17th of Feb but she had not received her sim, so her line when expressionless at about 3 PM of Friday. She got the sim in the mail the side by side 24-hour interval and activated her account and so far everything is working fine.
Then at present it is my turn. I ordered sixteen€ forfait a few minutes agone. Will continue you posted.
As for my 2€ sim it seems to be working fine except in Monaco.
Stuart06 did you lot get your sim nevertheless??
unclebuck-261169 1329595095
I ordered my sim on the tenth feb, so far aught has arrived and according to the site information technology does not look like information technology has even been sent out. Seems that at that place is no set time limit to when they are sent.
ange03-273321 1329599158
Hi, my sim card arrived at the house 2 weeks after I had signed up. On their site my status was still only "social club received" or something similar that (the first step). When I tried to activate the sim card, information technology wouldn't work so I called them. They right away updated my condition to the next step and told me as before long as my telephone had "portability" all steps would be light-green and that this would happen in the next day. A couple hours after I was able to place and receive calls. I believe their arrangement is somewhat overwhelmed and you have to give them ii weeks to procedure everything. Expect at the bright side, the starting time fourth dimension I chosen to the States and talked for several hours I checked my online bill and the call was registered but toll 00.00 Euros!
NewToFree 1329645019
I have a Blackberry Curve 8500 and received my menu sim de free yesterday. Calls and sms piece of work fine, but MMS and internet don't piece of work. Complimentary sent a letter of the alphabet with the menu sim indicating how to prepare the cyberspace connectedness and the MMS serveur, simply the description given in this letter doesn't lucifer what I see when I look at the settings (pregnant I don't know where to make full in what because fields like "MMSC" , "MCC", and "MNC" are not shown on my blackberry) Can anyone assistance?
NewToFree 1329645229
Oh, and Yes, I called Free, simply the connection was interrupted 30 seconds after I had finally reached someone (I waited for 10 minutes...) I called them once again but apparently they receive then many calls correct now that I was told to call up after...
Crossfamily-289915 1329645666
Effort calling them in the middle of the day if you tin as I have called them twice merely recently and did not wait any longer than a couple of rings.
K57-220326 1329670065
I ordered mine the day they appear the new policy and received the SIM carte about a calendar week after that, I have been using it fore more than iii weeks and I have to say information technology is a bit disapointing.
Making phone calls it works pretty skillful, it has an annoying filibuster after y'all dial the number which I believe is because of their registration beingness handed over from Orange to their own servers and and then the call usually goes via their own VoIP service which is OK, but non great.
International calls are a bit troublesome, I call US and Sweden a lot and ever 4th or fifth call I take to re-call due to echo or other bug, but once I get it to piece of work, it works fine.
Data transfer is actually slow, my SonyEricsson Xperia can non access their data network here in Antibes/Juan Les pins, but it works pretty good when I am in Aix En Provence or Marseille.
I ordered it mainly because of their depression price, international calls and data service but I am thinking nigh canceling information technology and pay a few euro more than and apply a service that give a better quality than them. Perchance in a few months they will take a better service, but right at present, I am really not impresses.

Here's a brief resumé of my feel.
25/01/12 Applied to Free mobile for contact and portabilité of number from existing operator SFR.
sixteen/02/12 Advised of SIM sent and portabilité of number previewed for the 21/02/12.
18/02/12 Received SIM.
21/02/12 Activated SIM via Gratuitous mobile espace client.
21/02/12 Portabilite transfered to Free network and all functioning perfectly for my particular personal needs.
Currently awaiting to see what and how SFR are going to reimburse me apropos the existing 17 days of my contract with them plus the call credit accumulated not to mention the famous benefits pertaining to their and then called fidelity system.
My personal advice to anyone transferring their current number from their existing operator is to visit their espace client in that location (if created) and to cancel it forthwith prior to the portabilité to avert the barrage of trashy offers sent to either your email address or mobile phone from the previous operator.
MelaNice 1330118343

Here's a cursory summary of my experience.
18/02/12 Practical to Gratis mobile for contact and portabilité of number from existing operator Bouygues.
28/02/12 Advised of SIM sent and portabilité of number previewed for the 03/03/12.
3/03/12 Received SIM. (That was a shut phone call!!) Activated SIM around ii:xxx Portabilite transfered to Free around 4PM. For a few hours I could make calls from both but just receive calls on the bouyg line, then it inverse I could make calls Bouyg line an telephone call and receive in the complimentary line.
So it looks similar the expect time for portabilité has gone down from 3 to 2 weeks.
Now the two bug I'm having is that my phone says I'thou roaming, and it won't let me sign into my google accounts. Although not being able to sign in to my google accounts has happened earlier. Called Gratuitous to report the problem and he said brand a few calls and see if you get charged and we have it on tape that you have reported the trouble and so if yous run across charges telephone call us dorsum.
Does anyone have any advice on how to resolve either of these problems??
Thanks
PS. I am glad to be Costless!!!

A note for anybody using a xxx@free.fr electronic mail account.
I accept noticed recently an increase in incoming emails from "freemobile@free-mobile.fr" with the subject line by and large "Confirmation de la création de votre espace abonné" inviting you to connect to your user interface, all the ones I have received are spurious and definately not be opened or followed upwardly.
The virtually secure way to admission your "espace abonné" is via the costless website.

Skillful question ThinkLucky! Although I am non an adept similar ChristopherL or Stuart06, I'thousand guessing not. I think Free's thinking is, your gonna love it and then you lot are gonna stay, and if you wanna go, that'due south ok cause nosotros have tons of happy clients from the other providers. ;) Only I would exist interested in an official answer.
As for my bug, turns out I missed the info on the dorsum of sim card letter. I take but picked upwardly in this thread. I am at the finish of my 10 twelvemonth SFR service and have formally cancelled my contract past Recommandé AV and have the reception... I have asked for the unblock code for my iphone but as yet received zilch. My question is how can I get this unblocked privately? I have no desire to enter into a protracted dialogue with SFR. It seems that free is generally accepted equally a fair deal and am near to check it out. Thanks.

I would walk into the SFR shop and ask. They have to practice this and should do it right at that place. I retrieve information technology use to be six months, but now it is 3 months. I besides do non know if it is phone ownership or contract length.
Otherwise, ask ChrisL, he knows a place behind NiceEtoile. Probably costs about €twoscore though.

Theres loads of places around Notre Dame off Jean Medecin which volition unblock your phone normally for nether xx Euros, effort in Rue D'Italie, Rue angleterre.
Another question to Forum here - my wife has SFR several years continuing and wishes to switch to gratuitous - we seem to get a very unclear motion-picture show from SFR near what the proceedure is to cancel their contract and switch the same number to free - if anyone has successfully washed this I'd very much appreciate a step by step guide, and timings of their feel, particularly to avoid loss of mobile and endless marketing calls once y'all have decided to resiliate.
Thx in accelerate.

thinklucky: Do not abolish your current contract with SFR, your new provider will exercise it for you.
First call 3179. This volition requite yous your so-chosen RIO number. Don't carp writing information technology downward, just hang up and information technology will be sent to you lot by sms.
Now, when signing upwardly for your new contract you'll be asked if you desire to keep your electric current number. Say yeah and put in the RIO you received before.
That'south it.

We had 2 lines with sfr that had a base of operations cost of 65 euros and with additional time come up to between 80 to 120 euros every calendar month.
We have moved both to free and the quality of calls is as good every bit SFR. We pay 40 euros a month line rental and we will have almost zero extra charge every bit we can call equally much as we want.
The extra is the data package which ways we now access facebook and email via our phones that we did non do with sfr.
The best role is we listen to BBC and RTE Radio via the Android BCC Radio app in our cars :) at no actress cost.... Thanks FREE..................

I'k a long-time France Telecom / Orange customer and am also thinking of making the switch to Costless, for mobile / fixed line / net etc. I don't empathize all of the tech issues, but I've read through the mails on this topic and information technology seems to me that this is the best approach:
(1) Society Free's EUR 2 mobile phone forfait, with a new number, then get it up and running to ensure that I have a working phone during the transition from FT/Orangish (I'd social club adequately bones phone on Amazon for this)
(ii) Once I get Complimentary's EUR 2 forfait up and running, subscribe to Free and order my Freebox for the fixed line / internet (EUR 29.99 / month???), keeping my exisiting FT telephone number
(iii) One time the Complimentary subscription is in place, lodge Free's unlimited EUR 15.99 mobile forfait, keeping my existing Orange mobile number.
Does this brand sense? Have I understood this correctly? Any comments, anyone?
thinklucky 1331233833
From what I'thousand understanding with your orange mobile, yous just order your RIO pass information technology on to gratuitous filling in their subscription, they volition deal with the balance with orange terminating your contract and switching your number, your mobile should non become down - therefore I'd suggest move (1) in your proposed plan of activeness whilst in principle a good safeguard would be a waste of money and time, as simply past going to (2) for starter would get you there without loss of service, only others on this forum may wish to correct me on this.
Depanordique 1331235751
Brianna: As thinklucky says, skip (one) and go direct to (2).
Switching mobile service provider is totally painless. The only risk is that y'all may not receive your new SIM card earlier the old one is close off (this actually happened to me considering La Poste was on strike), but while that was a problem in the commencement the gamble of it happening at present is very small.
Brianna-233730 1331235910
Cheers so much for your reply. In fact, the idea of ordering the EUR 2 first came from MelaNice (01/02/12) who suggested doing this in instance phone service was cutting during the weekend because of the switchover from the previous provider to Gratis. But one manner or some other it certainly seems like the right motility...I've been scouting around other companies in Antibes (FT/Orangish, Bouyges, SFR, even Phone House) and am really surprised that they are not coming upwards with better competitive offers.
MelaNice 1331237162
Only it is true you lot can just gild your box and sim at the same fourth dimension. I personally would get the box set and so club the sim.
Did everyone notice that free has dropped the prices of their phones!!! Gotta dearest em!!!
Gonna modify my proper noun to Proud2BaFreeSlave!!! Cause they had me at hello!!! Bwahahahahahaahah!!!!
soundsalike 1331278495
Thanks for all the info, this was far simpler than anticipated, even SFR tent text advising when the line volition be cut, in all hassle FREE.
Still pending the sim & unblock lawmaking merely will update as the scenario unfolds in order to benefit others.
TomTom-248588 1331291721
We take moved 2 sfr lines to free and it has been first-class. No issues.
gratuitous have moved 1.5 million people in vi weeks and a negliable number of sims might get delayed in the mail service. sorry to here you are 1 of the unlucky ones.
earlier we had 3 hour monthly telephone call plans with sfr; already in the 1st calendar week with free I used 4 hours telephone call time.... thanks gratuitous :)
thinklucky 1331292752
Another lead on free which might aid - whilst switching my wifes SFR to free I started to look further into our own landlines/internet, nosotros are currently on an Alice bundle, on ringing them on 1033 they brash me Alice and Gratis are the aforementioned company and we could switch without tie in or cost to Free and thus as an existing costless client profit from the reduced 15.99 bundle on my wifes mobile rather than the 19.99 1 she was going to go for....could be worth looking at guys if yous are in the same state of affairs. And so far I very much like what I'grand hearing.
Crossfamily-289915 1331579733
Thought I would give you my Gratis story so far as there seems to be a few variations.
I ordered the nineteen.99 sim and 2 euro sim on Feb 7th and the nineteen.99 which was for a transfer for my existing number number was posted February 20th and not transfer sim posted February 27th, from what I had read information technology is ordinarily the other way around.
My 19.99 sim took 2 days to work after activation, I did call on 24-hour interval 2 and was told that it was my phone information technology must be locked which wasnt the case then about 3 hours later I got a msg so something must of happened their end after my call but I do not accept information yet.....
Even so my 2 euro sim menu is not working it states "invalid or missing sim" no matter what phone I only information technology in. My judge in that location is a problem with my sim. I have tried calling Free a several times and seem to get cut off or they hang up non sure.
Does any ane have any suggestions? Don't get me wrong I am not complaining as up until now all ran very smoothly and have been very impressed.
I will update when I accept more news.
Louise and Dave 1331756846
signed up for the xx euro offer for myself and the 2 euro offering for my son. So far, so good. keeping my fingers crossed just it certainly beats the competition

Cross family unit:
If the 19.99 sim is agile you have data. You need to check the setting on your telephone. This is quite simple if yous follow the screen shots on the free assist website. You need to say y'all want roaming while in France for information and you lot have to set upwardly a Mobile Admission Indicate Proper noun.
You would have to practise this with SFR and Orange as well, if the standard settings on the sim did not piece of work.
soundsalike 1331826330
As far equally FREE goes everything could not be smoother, however SFR are being awkward. I accept an iphone and with the registered letter respectfully requested to have it unblocked. This did not happen. Now phoning SFR service they say I should have asked before the SIM was blocked... I was told to go the Apple shop who say, NO, its SFR who have to practice this.... so there we have it... no service thanks to SFR, I have heard earlier they simply play a joke on off people with imitation hoods, this I tin can confirm, my message is beware, you are entitled to have the phone unblocked later 3 months in service, mine was 24 months, I have a concern and will never e'er utilize SFR once more, I often buy contracts for mobiles and they have simply shot themselves in the foot.
stuart06-195098 1331827142
But another example of the SFR incompetence,I received an SMS from SFR yesterday informing me if I don't pay the unpaid account within v days by credit card the service will be terminated,I assume they are refering to the old contract which was terminated concluding calendar month including cancellation of the straight debit attributed to their company within the respective time delays.
mrslb 1333117284
I'd like to sign up with gratis,we already have their internet, only does anyone know when they are getting the iphone in?

I think I remember the CEO of Free saying that until Apple tree starts paying there workers fairly and stops using child labor that they volition not exist providing Apple products.
RollerGirl-316111 1334704220
I take looked through this thread just can't find out any information on the toll of using internet on the 19.99 deal, whilst in another country.. Is this possible? And how much are they charging?
Take the sim card already and everything is working good! Only wanna know what happens if I try using it away, will i go email?
Many thank you, in advance

Just to say for anyone interested, I have been on Free for 2 months now and information technology couldn't be smoother, recommended.

Hi, I find that nobody has posted anything further on this discussion - has anyone signed up to Gratuitous & institute information technology is every bit proficient as information technology seems. I'm looking into all possibilities at the moment - I need a french mobile as soon as possible & broadband in my rental apartment from June - so it'd be corking if I knew if Complimentary are my best affordable option. Thank you

How-do-you-do,
I had intial problems just with my sim card a new one was sent and I take been with Free now for just on 2 months and could not be happier.
I have travelled to quite a few areas and not had whatsoever probs with reception at all.
Would have no probs telling you to swap over.
MelaNice 1335031003
pennychanteuse, plenty of people have posted quite honestly how their Free experience has gone.
I volition repeat mine. I am a happy, happy, happy with my free phone. I love that even when I call the UK or send texts to the Great britain my bill never goes in a higher place 20€. I was paying 65€ per month without calls or texts to the Uk. I won't even go into the joy I have when I telephone call someone in the The states and talk and talk and talk and again no hidden fees or tricks.
FYI, Virgins unlimited trick is you can only telephone call xc numbers a month unlimited. SFR only 200. When free says unlimited they mean unlimited. Y'all are billed by the second.
I have
also been with and then for seven years for my land line, cyberspace and Telly.I am a Complimentary
slave and happy about it!!! ;)A2C - AZUR 1335097066

I now take my sim and iPhone with them and everything is cracking, both arrived actually fast and information technology was very easy to set up. The only difficulty I'm having is that I can't send or receive photos,do any of you know what I take to practise so i can? Cheers.
AlexMCai 1337618969
I accept tried free.fr but this sadly information technology does not work in Monaco. In half of Monaco your are offline.
So... how practice you cancel subscription with gratis.fr? It should be quite like shooting fish in a barrel, but dont know where to observe this selection.
Thank you lot for answers!
GreenLeaf-314739 1337619923
Yes, Alex, Monaco is not France (complimentary.FR), Read your terms of service or download it from the website to observe out how to un-suscribe
AlexMCai 1337630848
I had orange before and it worked everywhere with no problem as information technology uses monaco telecom antennas...
so my logic was:
free.fr uses orangish antennas, orange owns monaco telecom and orange works in monaco telecom antennas - so by this logic costless.fr should work too - just it does not
fifty-fifty monaco telecom network on free.fr phone is called free...
too bad i didnt know this before....
MelaNice 1337634872
AlexMCai, if you accept the 2€ sim no it won't work in Monaco, merely I take the 16€ program and it works just fine when I am not in the dead zone known as my office.
Month 4 and still in love. simply ordered a new phone and another sim.
AlexMCai 1337643849
what is the address of free?
on website it says:
Free Forfait Mobile
75371 Paris Cedex 08
So street proper name?? if you lot transport to accost like this does it even get delivered??
AlexMCai 1337644897
i have 19.99 - and does non work
it is not the case of package - it is the problem with antennas, and lack of them
LeighA 1337728057
We've had naught but problems with costless. We each got a carte and loved the price only not the service. Nosotros don't receive texts from abroad. The network is terrible in the afternoon: the line goes straight to vocalisation mail without ringing or the call is dropped. Approachable calls won't connect, nosotros have to endeavor numerous times before a call will go through. Giving it another calendar month hopefully the company can sort things out!
MelaNice 1337755520
AlexMCai, Yeah that is the address and it will get there.
EmondA?, I have experienced only the things, I have included the reasons I have been told that they happen and what I do the compensate. However even though there are these problems, IMHO they exercise not come shut to outweighing the benefits like, much cheaper international texts and being charged past the 2nd for my not included international calls!! Or my favorite, if I need to telephone call in about my Freebox, I call with my cell and so I do not have to pay for the telephone call!!the
line goes directly to voice mail without ringing
Why: usually when I'm in a tunnel or dead zone.
My Solution: cheque voice mail more ofttimes
the telephone call is
dropped
Why: I don't really know why, but this rarely happens and this happened with bouygtel also.
My solution: remember and retrieve 20€ instead of 80€
Approachable calls won't connect, (Why: This and the service being bad in the afternoon is due to high call volume and Orange being upset that they are losing and then many clients and since they can non just cut off Free's service, which they did do for 2-3 hours about 6 weeks ago, they have given priority to their clients. Then when you effort to make a call if there is a high demand at that moment we Costless people go simply to the dorsum of the line, only once more I had this problem with bouygtel merely peradventure a footling more often now.
My solution: Phone call back and FIGHT THE Ability!!!! ;)
If information technology is happening a lot it may exist were y'all are every bit ChristopherL has suggested.
I hope this helps.

Thank you for your suggestions, MelaNice. We're in Nice.
If the lines weren't for piece of work+pleasure information technology wouldn't be a big deal but for those people who need their phones for work and TO work I simply cannot recommend gratuitous. As for "fighting the ability" other companies have already dropped their rates.

In improver to EmondA's points: the information plan does not piece of work in sure European countries which is ridiculous.
chrisblackburn46-205977 1338985818
I take received the €2 monthly version SIM bill of fare and take inserted information technology into the phone - the initial asking for the code is fine and it indicates that the code is good. Then still I get stuck with a screen that says 'SIM verrou'?
I have checked on my business relationship page on the Free site and it shows that all should be well and the account agile.
How do I get thru this screen?
The phone was originally purchased on a 'pay as y'all go' SFR plan - is this where the problem is? Practice you need to buy a new phone to employ with the Free SIM?
Cheers all!

Looks like your telephone is SIM locked. In that location is a great identify halfway downwards the Boulevard Carnot in Cannes on the right equally you head toward the town who will unlock information technology for between 15 and xxx Euros depending on the brand.

Hullo, I've being trying to find out every bit much as I can about the €19.99 offer from Free and have read most of the discussion here. I still accept a couple of questions:
1) I take it the SIM card will work in an unlocked MIFI router and sharing the connection shouldn't exist an effect as long as you stay within the 3GB download limit?
two) The deal offers unlimited admission to their Wifi hotspots. How does this work - exercise they give you a login/password at sign-upwardly and then you login as normal through your laptop?
Presumably using their hotspots have no touch on your 3GB data allowance?
iii) I would only need mobile broadband for 3 months of the year. Has anyone cancelled notwithstanding and is information technology straightforward to stop the straight debit payments?
Cheers...
ChristopherL-188542 1339683013
i) I take it the SIM card will work in an unlocked MIFI router and sharing the connection shouldn't be an issue as long as you stay within the 3GB download limit?
Me too I assume the aforementioned affair merely I have not tried it yet - going to endeavour information technology existent real before long in a Globesurfer Pick Iii as it will be a great economical manner to get occasional 3G+ data (and home phone at the aforementioned fourth dimension!) without any landline involved. Many people have asked for such a solution.
2) The deal offers unlimited access to their Wifi hotspots. How does this piece of work - do they give y'all a login/countersign at sign-up and and then yous login equally normal through your laptop?
I don't know how that works with the €xix.99 deal because I qualify for the €15.99 variant beingness already an annointed "Freenaute" via my ADSL. Equally a Freenaute, y'all already go WiFi hotspot codes. I don't know how you receive similar codes if yous are a SIM-just customer. Peradventure y'all don't?
Presumably using their hotspots have no affect on your 3GB data allowance?
I would share exactly the same presumption
three) I would only need mobile broadband for three months of the yr. Has anyone cancelled yet and is it straightforward to stop the directly debit payments?
I think information technology is besides early for anyone to give yous applied feedback on this. In whatever case, you are well-advised to explicitly deny the prélèvement in writing at your bank. That is simple enough to ensure you accept no surprises building upwardly during your absence from the country.
niceUser08 1339685045
@ChristopherL, thanks for the respond. I've already jumped the gun on the Mifi router by purchasing one locally (I'g not in France yet). I will try and setup a direct debit to my account at abode - at least I can bargain with my local bank in English rather than struggle with our French bank when it comes to cancelling.
ChristopherL-188542 1339720428
I'll bet y'all anything you lot similar that you lot cannot utilize a non-French banking company (I already tried). The reason is that Free is very heavily automated and their systems expect the banking concern details in strict RIB format.
niceUser08 1339758429
You are right, it's national banking concern account numbers only (they don't take an IBAN number with a land prefix). However, there is a option underneath where y'all input your banking concern details to switch to payment by debit carte du jour/visa/mastercard, then I paid past visa and then far then good! I just have to wait and encounter what the adjacent steps are when the SIM arrives in post.
Coelliot 1340170985
Hey guys, I'm moving to France for a yr in a couple months and I recollect I'm going to bring my Milky way S2 over and sign up with Free Mobile, my question is, can I sign upwards for the sim now so I have it when I get in that location or do I need to expect till I'm in France to sign up for this service? I'd call but my French isn't the all-time and long altitude charges would impale me. Whatsoever help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.
niceUser08 1340730505
Hi, you lot can sign up for information technology before yous leave for France. I ordered mine on 15th June, got billed for it on the 18th, and it was marked shipped the side by side day but still no sign of it, I'm starting to get a petty worried its gone missing in the post.
ChristopherL-188542 1340732034
There is admittedly no need to physically BE in France when you lot club the SIM. Merely your volition demand a valid French accost of course for the postage of SIM and
Banking concern RIB for billing. Much meliorate to do this online than calling - it is all very straightforward.
niceUser08 1340978428
Hullo, does anybody have an e-mail contact for Free.fr customer support as I'1000 guessing freemobile@gratis-mobile.fr is not a monitored email accost. My sim carte du jour never arrived and my French is definitely not upward to a technical conversation.
stuart06-195098 1341007733
As far as I am aware there isn't a directly contact email address, accept a look at these links and encounter if you tin observe a solution.
Looking at the dates you mention I would advise maybe waiting some other week or so,failing that I reckon a possible fashion frontward would be a telephone call to the 3244 number past someone who could explain the situation.

HI SEG, I have the same problem - information technology drives me nuts. I can successfully send SMS abroad & they are received but I don't receive the replies. I thought at starting time my friends & family were ignoring me!! They can't telephone call me from abroad either. I haven't as yet attempted talking to Gratuitous all the same but have been summoning up courage to telephone call the support considering techy stuff in french isn't exactly my forte. Very disheartening to hear that Costless can't rectify it for you. What to exercise. Any ideas anyone please?

I have had my Free sim carte (xix.99 €) for a calendar week and can't receive SMS from the UK. Have contacted Costless 3 times about this and must say I've had no trouble getting concord of their assistance lines, but they can't solve the problem or give me a satisfactory answer and so I'yard considering going to Bouygues Telecom (B &YOU) who take the same offer. Is there anyone out in that location using B & YOU who tin can assure me that they receive SMS from the UK and other countries. I don't want to be caught out again.I had a mobicard for years and never had whatever problem.
Kate V 1349088835
Hi, I take the same trouble. Just signed upward with Free(19,99) can send texts to Britain but not receive them, Free customer service were no help, they insisted it was the fault of the sender in the UK, which is conspicuously not the case as it's specific to my Gratis account. I take resorted to using an one-time UK prepay phone for texting to the u.k. (which is really cheaper, I call up 7 or eight pence cf 19 cents), but its annoying to be carrying effectually multiple phones.
cigalle 1349091382
It seems there is no sollution to this problem, then I've decided to change to Bouygues Telecom (B &YOU) they accept more or less the same offering. But would still like to hear from whatsoever one who is with B&Yous who can assure me that they receive text messages from the UK
